　　Season four follows the main characters in the aftermath of the decisions they made in the last season. Issa pursues a passion project she actually cares about, Molly navigates a real relationship for the first time, Lawrence figures out what leveling-up means for him, and we see the effect of Tiffany’s new baby on the dynamic of the friend group. Along the way, we'll see these characters evaluating relationships, both new and old, in an effort to figure out who and what comes with them in this next phase of their lives.

　　故事讲述阿拉斯加州的Ennis迎来了漫长冬夜，在当地运作Tsalal北极科考站的8名男性消失得无影无踪。为了解决这起案件，Liz Danvers（朱迪·福斯特 饰）和Evangeline Navarro（卡莉·瑞斯 饰）这两位警探将不得不面对她们内心的黑暗，挖掘埋藏在永恒冰层下那些萦绕不去的真相。

　　聚焦活跃在1970年代的美国连环杀手、强奸犯——“金州杀手”。他犯下至少50起入室强奸、13起谋杀，一直隐藏在黑暗中。2018年，前警察Joseph James DeAngelo被起诉，疑为这名杀手。剧名来自金州杀手威胁一名受害者的话：“你将永远开不了口，而我将消失在黑暗中。”

　　伴随着种种猜测和推论，开膛手杰克作为历史上最神秘的连环杀手成功的把这个不解之迷从19世纪带到了21世纪。120年后的伦敦,仍然在那个白教堂区（Whitechapel）,重新出现了和当年开膛手杰克作案手法如出一辙的杀人案件.杀人犯效仿开膛手杰克的手法四处杀人。白教堂区警察局的探长Joseph（鲁伯特·彭利·琼斯 Rupert Penry-Jones 饰）被局长指派去调查出现在白教堂区发生的凶杀案。由于年轻,所以遭到下属的嘲笑。警探Miles（菲尔·戴维斯 Philip Davis 饰）对下属相当严格，对自己的判断相当有自信，不善听取别人的意见。对Joseph有相当大的意见，但是随着命案的连续出现和他的正确判断，开始敬佩新探长的能力。有了开膛手杰克学者Edward（史蒂夫·佩姆伯顿 Steve Pemberton 饰）的帮助，使得Joseph的调查有了实质的进展。经过警探们深入调查其中奥妙，究竟他们能否抓住真凶呢？
